"It’s been described as an Eno-like transformation more than once before, but the comparison seems more fitting than ever in light of this magnificent tape of long form, no pussyfooting, heaven music."

INVERSIONS documents the sound installation Alexis Georgopoulos presented at Jack Hanley Gallery in collaboration with filmmaker Paul Clipson and design studio RO/LU.
“The two pieces that formed the sound installation — "Raga for Moog & Violin" and "Flamingo", both included on the Geographic North cassette-only-release — were composed in the same key (C minor Dorian), chosen for its ability to be heard for great lengths of time, its root are in cultures from ancient Greece to India, and its link to visions of futurism. The sound installation reflects and refracts themes explored in both RO/LU’s sculptural installation and Clipson’s Super 8 film.
Using a Moog synthesizer, and featuring Nicky MAO (aka Hiro Kone) on violin and piano, the C minor Dorian mode allows the listener/visitor to focus on sound at times and plays a subliminal, sometimes barely perceptible role, at others. Analog synthesizer overtones give way to violin, moving gradually at first, then building into a cascade of sound, before receding. This process regenerates over the course of the piece, each time doing so differently.”
